Gareth Bale Close To Leaving Real Madrid - Zidane

Gareth Bale was booed by the Real Madrid fans last season in every match he played. He has had a rocky relationship with Real Madrid supporters, the chairman and now the coach, Zinedine Zidane, who is evidently not a big fan of the Welshman.

His situation in Real Madrid turned sour overnight. Bale was initially touted to fill the big boots of five-time Balon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, in 2018 but he failed to live up to expectations partly due to his injury crisis that has always haunted his career with inconsistencies.

The 30-year-old winger remains the highest scoring British player in La liga history, breaking the 50 goal haul of Gary Lineker of Barcelona. Though he has three years left in his current contract, Real Madrid cannot wait to offload him. Following the signing of Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic, Bale was left as the scapegoat. Top clubs like Bayern Munich, Manchester United and even PSG are all eager for his signature.

Real Madrid lost to Bayern Munich 3-1 in a friendly pre-season game at Houston, United States of America [USA]. Bale did not feature in all 90 minutes which raised eyebrows. When the coach, Zidane, was asked, he replied that the Former Tottenham Hotspur player was “very close” to joining another club.

"Bale did not play because he is very close to leaving. We hope he leaves soon, it would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team."

"I have nothing personal against him, but there comes a time where things are done because they must be done, I have to make decisions, we have to change," Zidane said.

Where is the next destination for Bale?
