Manchester United transfer target, Bruno Fernandes, broke down in tears on an emotional night after playing what might be his last game for Sporting Lisbon.

The Portuguese star captained Sporting Lisbon as they suffered a 2-1 defeat in their friendly against Valencia on Sunday.

But the big talking points from the game was the midfielder's emotional outburst after the game as he broke down in tears after struggling to keep his emotions in check.

Standing in the middle of the pitch and surrounded by his teammates, Fernandez was captured on camera wiping his eyes as tears dropped after what could be his last game for Sporting Lisbon.

The 23-year-old is expected to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United in a deal worth £56million before the new Premier League season kicks off.

After the game, Sporting Lisbon boss Marcel Keizer spoke to reporters and admitted he wasn't sure what the future holds for the player.

"We'll see if we can keep our players and then we'll see what we do. I hope he [Fernandes] stays, of course, like everyone else at Sporting, but we don't know," the Dutch football coach said.

Fernandez had refused to reveal his next move when asked before the match: "Will this be the last match for Sporting? I don't know, it's the coach who decides,' the midfielder told A BOLA.

"I told I'd like to play in England, but I don't care about it right now.

"If it could be this season? It could be when the club decides, I'm not in charge."

But it now appears that the two clubs have reached an agreement and the player who scored 32 goals and assisted a further 18 would be making the move to the Old Trafford side.
