Liverpool Lose Community Shield Match On Penalties

The game between Manchester City and Liverpool held yesterday, Sunday, August 4, at the Wembley Stadium.

This match heralds the new 2019/20 season which starts in a week. Both teams finished first and second respectively this last season.

Both teams put out strong line ups, with Sadio Mane being the only significant Liverpool absentee. Man City, on the other hand, had players like Stone, Sane, Sterling and even their latest signing, Rodrigo, in the line up.

Raheem Sterling drew first blood in the 12th minute against his former side. Then Joel Matip equalised in the 77th minute, causing the game to go into penalties.

The match ended 5-4 on penalties, gifting Man City their first trophy of the season.
