A young boy's desire to see Liverpool star, Mohammed Salah, left him in pain when he hit a lamp post while running after the footballer.

The young boy, identified as Louis Fowler, was trying to get the Egyptian striker's attention while the football star was driving out of the club's training base on Saturday, but he ran into a lamp post and began bleeding from the nose.

His stepfather, Joe Cooper, told Liverpool's leading news media outlet, 'Liverpool Echo', that his son was a staunch Liverpool fan and was waiting outside the base to get Salah's attention.

"Unfortunately, Louis went straight into a lamp post while running after his car and busted his nose when he hit the floor," he said.

Neighbours took Louis and his brother home, only to be followed shortly afterward by Salah, who had turned back.

"It all happened so quick we hadn't even had the chance to clean him up," a neighbour said.

"He'd seen one of the boys had hurt himself and he had the decency to drive back into the close to check that he was OK. No one could believe it. Everyone was gobsmacked."

Louis and his brother, who live near the Melwood training base, had been spending their summer holidays trying to get pictures of their football heroes. They drooled at the sight of their favourites training.

Salah has once again left many in awe. He reversed his car to check up on the young boy after he saw him run into the lamp post and was gracious enough to take pictures with him.
