Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has grown over the years, from a boy who worked in restaurants and bars to the richest footballer in the world. His father died as a drunkard when Cristiano was in his early teens but he grew to be arguably the world's greatest footballer.

He has revealed the advice he gave his nine-year-old son, Cristiano Ronaldo Junior, who wants to emulate his success.

According to the 34-year-old, his son is eager to follow in his footsteps as a footballer, after showing great promise in the Juventus juvenile team where he has scored four goals on his debut for the under-9 squad. He has reportedly scored 24 goals and made 10 assists so far wearing his dad’s iconic No.7 jersey.

His talent is no doubt similar to that of his father but his father believes talent isn't a benchmark but the foundation. He advised his son to be hardworking and made this known in an interview with a media outlet in Italy.

“When he saw my place, he could not believe that I had lived there. He asked me: ‘But have you really been here?’ Now it’s all easy, the houses, the car, and everything,” he stated.

“But to become a great footballer you can’t think that everything falls from the sky.

“It’s not the talent that reaches you, you have to grab it.

“You have to work hard and that’s what I’m trying to make him understand.”

Ronaldo and his son have been alone together for seven years, sharing a strong bond as father and son. Ronaldo trains his son personally and carries him around everywhere even for modelling ads. They share an enviable bond.
