Roy Keane Says He Will Never Forgive Sir Alex Ferguson

Jayfred Ugo

Former Manchester United skipper, Roy Keane, has reignited his dispute with the former Red Devils manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Keane denied claims that Ferguson had Manchester United's best interests at heart during his time as manager of the club.

In 2005, Roy Keane had a fall out with former Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, which saw the former leave the club. But Keane remains one of Manchester United's most decorated former captains, with seven Premier League titles to his name and a Champions League crown, among many other honours.

Ferguson was critical of Roy Keane in his autobiography published in 2013. Also, the Irishman, Keane, has often criticized the legendary manager. On Wednesday, Keane took another dig at Sir Alex Ferguson during an interview with a news agency where they discussed Keane's final days at United 14 years ago.

"I wouldn't forgive Ferguson. The media spin, how I apparently upset everybody, it was all nonsense.

"I don't care if it's Alex Ferguson or the Pope, you're going to defend yourself. People talk about Ferguson's man-management. Nonsense. People said he always had the best interests of Manchester United at heart. Darren Ferguson [his son] won a medal. He was very lucky."

Keane joined United from Nottingham Forest in 1993, going on to win 17 trophies before moving to Scottish giants, Celtic, in 2005 following the scuffle with Sir Alex.
