Watford: Coach Javi Garcia Sacked, Former Coach Reappointed

Javi Gracia has been sacked by the English Premier League club, Watford. Gracia, who so far this season has failed to register a win with the club, is currently at the bottom of the Premier League this season after four matches.

The football club made the announcement on their website.

"Javi has represented Watford with great dignity and will always be deserving of our fullest respect for his achievements," said Chairman and Chief Executive, Scott Duxbury.

"Javi Gracia's staff will also be leaving the club, ahead of the imminent appointment of a new coaching team.

"Everyone at the Hornets wishes Javi and his staff all the very best for the future, and they will always be welcome visitors in the future at Vicarage Road."

49-year-old Spanish coach, Garcia, was said to have signed a contract extension in November 2018, following a season that saw Watford finish eighth on the Premier league table, just one point behind Europa league new boys, Wolves.

However, the club has managed to score just two goals so far and has not won in their last eight league matches stretching back to April.

They also lost woefully to Manchester City in the FA Cup final last season, after a remarkable comeback against Wolverhampton in the semis. Javi will be paid his severance fee as the club has now reappointed Quique Sanchez Flores, their former manager who guided them to a premier league return.
