Neymar’s European Ban Reduced From Three To Two Matches

Jayfred Ugo

Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar, who just recently completed his domestic league ban for slapping a fan in France, has now had his three-game European ban for insulting match officials cut down to two by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

The 27-year-old Brazilian golden boy was charged by the European football governing body, UEFA, following his abusive rants during PSG's Champions League exit at home on March 6.

Neymar had called the award of a decisive 94th-minute United penalty in the last-16 second leg-tie "a disgrace". He insinuated that the referee was biased and that they did everything possible to knockout the French champions from the competition.

He will miss the games against Real Madrid and Galatasaray but can return to face Club Bruges on October 22. Neymar scored an intriguing goal during PSG's slim 1-0 victory over Strasbourg and is back to form for the Parc De Princes side.

With Cavani and Mbappe set to miss the encounter, new loanee from Inter Milan, Maurio Icardi, and Argentine winger, Di Maria, will lead the PSG makeshift attack line against an inconsistent Real Madrid side.
