Ernesto Valverde, the gaffer of Catalonia giants, Barcelona, has received all the blame for the club's poor form after their shameful 2-0 defeat at the hands of Granada on Saturday. The loss also became a disappointing LaLiga start and the worst in 25 years.

Valverde spoke during his post-match news conference on Saturday night.

"In the end, the actors are the players and the coach is responsible," he stated.

"I feel responsible for what has happened. You can lose but when you lose you have to deserve to win - and today we have not deserved it.

"Away from home we are not reaping good results. When it happens in four games it is already a symptom that we are not too well."

Two unreplied goals from Nigerian midfielder, Ramon Azeez, and Alvaro Vadillo, left Barcelona devastated, as the newly promoted club moved into the top three of the LaLiga table.

Valverde's lads have struggled to settle into the games and grind out results, which could be blamed on the captain, Lionel Messi. His absence has left the catalans languishing in the seventh position after five games. Messi only came in as a substitute in this game. He has not featured for Barcelona ever since.

This is the least number of points they have collected at this stage of the season since a difficult 1994-95 campaign under legendary coach, Johan Cruyff. However, Valverde's team matched Cruyff's worst statistics as manager of Barcelona, having failed to record a win in their last seven away games in all competitions, a run that can be retraced to last season.

The pressure keeps mounting on the coach, Ernesto, to take the team out of the shallow water or he might get the end of the sticks.
