Frank Lampard Shocked At Leeds United Winning FIFA Fair Play Award

Chelsea's manager, Frank Lampard, has admitted that he was stunned to see Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds win the FIFA Fair Play Award for the outcome of the 'Spygate' scandal in England's second tier league, English Championship.

The Argentine, Bielsa, coach of Leeds United and his club were recognised at the football governing body's annual award ceremony in Milan for showing great credibility in allowing Aston Villa to score an uncontested goal.

Speaking of villain turned hero, earlier this year in January, Leeds were fined £200,000 and were also given a severe reprimand by the English Football League after their manager, Bielsa, sent a member of his staff to spy on a Derby training session.

Chelsea boss, Lampard, was Derby County's manager at the time of the infamous West Yorkshire side's undercover operation in January. After being a victim of the antics of Biesla and Leeds United, Lampard has declared that he finds the fair play accolade "strange."

When asked to air his opinion concerning the FIFA Best Awards and the turnout of events, Lampard replied: "I did smile. Do we know who votes for these things?"

"What happened with Spygate was very well documented, and then they got fined, the rules changed slightly because of it, I felt it was improper.

"To get a fair play award off the back of that is ... I thought it was irony at first.

"It was a strange decision for them to win that."
