A fortnight ago, reports of the theft of Dolberg's expensive wristwatch, valued at €70,000, flooded the internet in France.

Dolberg went to the police after his watch was stolen on September 16. Two weeks later, Diaby-Fadiga confessed to stealing the wristwatch after all the evidences fingered him out as the key suspect.

OGC Nice had earlier refused to comment on the incident but there has been a recent statement released by the Ligue 1 top flight club.

"OGC Nice and Lamine Diaby-Fadiga parted ways on Tuesday," the statement read.

"Following the theft of Kasper Dolberg’s watch from the professional team’s changing room, and the subsequent admission of the player, the club decided to cancel its contract with the 18-year-old forward with immediate effect."

The teenager is now clubless, after being regarded as one of the brightest prospects of OGC Nice academy. He was also a promising France under-18 international, though he has made just seven appearances for the top team, playing 183 minutes without scoring.
