Osimhen Plays Like A Cat - Luis Campos

Luis Campos, the sporting director of Lille, has explained how he finally got the Nigerian star, Victor Osimhen, signed after four years.

Osimhen represented Nigeria’s Under-17 World Cup which was hosted in Chile, with the teenager scoring 10 goals, the highest number of goals in the competition, and 2 assists. He won the Golden Boot as his country won the cup.

Campos revealed that it was at the world cup that he discovered Osimhen, but he was just 17-years-old then. He recalled that he spoke with his CEO and begged to sign the teenager.

His first club signing was Wolfsburg but the striker could not showcase his skills at the German club until he got to Sporting where he scored 20 goals in all competitions.

At the beginning of this season, Osimhen was contacted and finally signed to the French club. Campos was, no doubt, expecting a lot from the 21-year-old wonderkid, as he described him as a cat.

"If all is normal at the end of the season there will be a big move for him because he's like a cat. You know, if you have a cat and give it a ball! Heʼs unbelievable. In the last 20 meters he attacks every ball. Every ball. Like a cat," Campos said.

Osimhen has not disappointed, as he has netted 8 goals so far in 11 games since the beginning of the season. He has also bagged the player of the month title in Lille, with his name also listed among players of the month in League 1.
