Tammy Abraham Says He Has Come To Stay In England Squad

Bernard Femi

Chelsea forward, Tammy Abraham, has vowed to cement a place in the England squad following a call-up by the England national coach, Southgate.

Abraham has shown his scoring skills since the league began. The Nigerian-UK born player has netted eight goals since the season commenced.

With the likes of Rashford, Berkleys, Mason Mount, Abraham has proved himself to be the best choice of Gareth Southgate. The Chelsea striker is looking ahead to be an England regular player like his coach, Frank Lampard, as well as David Beckam, Wayne Rooney and many England legends.

“For me, it’s a massive achievement. I’m clearly doing something right for my club to get attention from Gareth Southgate. It’s about going out there, helping the team as much as possible. And then coming back in and doing the same job for my team,” Abraham stated.

Meanwhile, the striker claimed his father has a good relationship with Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, and Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr. But it does not affect his choice of selection. He revealed it was a good feeling to be wanted by two nations. The two nations happened to be the ones he loved but England was his preferred choice.
