Allegri Set To Take Over From Manchester United's Ole Gunnar

Bernard Femi

Former Juventus boss, Massimiliano Allegri, has allegedly shown interest in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United job.

Allegri, who left the Italian giants at the end of last season, is giving the Old Trafford club an ultimatum to sign a contract with him.

He has stated that he either takes the job in a few weeks or never signs any agreement with them henceforth.

Allegri left the Allianz Stadium at the end of last month and has since been free with no contract offered yet.

Meanwhile, the United board of directors and fans as well as the executive Vice-Chairman, Ed Woodward, continue to mount pressure on Manchester United's coach, Gunnar, over the performance of Red Devils since the beginning of the season.

Currently at the 12th spot of the league table after playing 8 matches, Manchester United’s poor performance has made Woodward worried about the future of Ole Gunnar as the club's coach.

Ole Gunnar was offered a three-year contract as the coach but this may be withdrawn as a result of the Norwegian’s performance since he started the job.

Meanwhile, the 52-year-old Allegri is keen on getting the United contract signed. The former Juventus boss wants the job quickly in order to have more time to turn things around for the club, Gazzeta Dello Sport reports.
