Former Afghanistan Football Federation President Banned For Life Over Sexual Abuse Allegations

Bernard Femi

The Afghanistan Football Federation has witnessed many cases of sexual abuse, according to FIFA.

Keramuudin Kasim was banned for life by FIFA after several cases of rape were reported against him. According to FIFA not less than five Afghanistan players have reported a case of abuse going on in the Arabian country’s football team.

The allegation levelled against the Afghanistan Football Federation was unacceptable by FIFA, according to their code of conduct.

An investigation was opened by FIFA on the former General Secretary, Sayed Aghazada.

Aghazad, who was a former member of the Asian Football Confederation, was accused of being aware of the sexual abuse going on within the AFF and never reporting it to FIFA. He was, thus, fined €7,983.

Kasim was accused of repeatedly abusing female national players from 2013 to 2018. These allegations resulted in FIFA banning him for life.

According to reports, FIFA is also looking into similar allegations made against some other individuals.
