Liverpool's manager, Jurgen Klopp, has slammed the British football media for bestowing Manchester United with further online motivation ahead of their epic encounter on Sunday at Old Trafford.

The Merseyside club enter the feisty rivalry match with 5 points adrift of the second position and rival, Manchester City, in the English Premier League table.

They have won all eight of their league games so far in the 2019-20 season, amassing 24 points in total.

Manchester United, on the other hand, have fallen short of their prestige as they languish in the 12th position on the log, just two points above the relegation drop zone in the English Premier League (EPL).

Liverpool's manager, Klopp, was upset by the content and team selection of some football articles that picked a combined XI from the two teams and included no Man United players.

"The situation that everyone creates is that we are so good and they (Manchester United) have so many problems, they cannot play football anymore, we are flying, all this stuff.

“I saw all these things and it looks like they want to help Man Utd. All these articles look like they have been written by Man Utd supporters. A banana skin, a joke.

"I saw the combined team. Would I have found it insulting if it were us? Yes,” Klopp said.

He further warned his team, Liverpool and all the other teams to be wary of a wounded Manchester United side.
