Chelsea became a major force in English football once again after grinding out results in the recent matches. This comes after losing 4-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford in the first match of the 2019-20 campaign, but the Blues have successfully pushed that early embarrassment behind them.

Lampard's youthful team sits comfortably on fourth position in the Premier League after just 11 fixtures, boasting a six-point lead over fifth-placed rivals and fellow London club, Arsenal, in the race for the final Champions League spot.

Chelsea won eight of their last 10 matches across all competitions, but their flawless premier league run in October was key to their recent resurgence.

The 41-year-old head coach, Lampard, claimed the award ahead of August and September winner, Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp, in the final voting. Other nominees included Brighton's coach, Graham Potter, Leicester City's Brendan Rodgers and Aston Villa's Dean Smith.

In the player's category, Jamie Vardy, Leicester City forward, picked up the Player of the Month award for October, after scoring four goals in three appearances for Leicester City, including a hat-trick in the Foxes' record-breaking 9-0 win over Southampton.
