Austin Papi

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has said that the majority of Nigerian youths lack digital skills, and as a result, have remained unemployable.

Dare emphasized on the new economic trend in diaspora and how it has made youths the most vibrant part of production, adding that with over 67million youths in Nigeria, the country has potentials suitable for economic prosperity in the future.

He added that, like many advanced economies, there is an urgent need for massive investment in the youths to engender speedy economic advancement, but most of the youths in Nigeria lack the skills needed in the digital world

The minister made this known at an Economic and Investment Summit, tagged "Pathway To Economic Growth And Prosperity For The State Of Osun", which was held in Osogbo, Osun State.

"An investment in the youths will bring about gains today and not tomorrow,” Dare stated.

"I also advocated for mechanized farming as it would help guarantee food security, as well as injecting technology into vocational training to build virile human capital among the youths."
