Cristiano Ronaldo himself was left in awe after scoring what many tagged as a sensational “NBA-style” goal. The goal went on to be the winning header as Juventus emerged 2-1 victor away over Sampdoria on Wednesday night with all 3 goals coming before half time.

The Bianconeri moved three points clear off their arch-rivals, Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A table, although they (Inter Milan) have an outstanding game.

Ronaldo, who turns 35 in two months, has shown no signs of ageing scoring his 10th Serie A goal of the campaign just before half-time, and he has scored in five consecutive matches.

The Portuguese captain and Juventus winger told Sky Sport Italia that he was surprised at how long he remained on air before powering the ball into the net with his head.

"I'm very happy with the result. It's been a very difficult match against a Sampdoria team who played well. We managed to do even better and deservedly got this victory.

"The team played with a great attitude. The goal was great, especially because it was decisive for winning the three points. I didn't know I was up (in the air) so long," he said.

Paulo Dybala had given Juventus the lead with his one time volleyed goal at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, home to Sampdoria football club. Although the lead was short-lived as Gianluca capitalized on poor Juventus poor defending to make it one apiece (1-1). However, the man of form, Cristiano Ronaldo leapt highest to give Juventus the three points.

Sampdoria manager, Claudio Ranieri, while speaking with Sky Sport Italia after the match, said,

"I'm very satisfied with the performance of the boys. When they (Juventus) scored goals like this, we just have to admire them as two masterpieces. Ronaldo scored in NBA style—he was up there for an hour and a half."
