Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, in a Friday news conference confirmed the appointment of centre back, Harry Maguire, as the new captain.
This follows the shock departure of veteran winger turned full back Ashley Young, who is set to complete his move to Inter milan this month.
“Harry is the captain. everything about him tells me he is a leader. Harry will keep wearing the armband now,” said the United manager.
Harry Maguire, having only joined the club in the summer for £80million, has shown leadership skills in the dressing room and has led the team in the absence of the now-former captain, Ashley young.
Harry Maguire’s first outing as captain will be against bitter rivals Liverpool on Sunday 19th January.
