Juventus coach, Maurizio Sarri, is filled with nothing but compliments for Cristiano Ronaldo's mother, as the Juventus main star extended his goalscoring streak to 12 goals in eight consecutive matches.

On Wednesday night, the Turin club defeated Roma 3-1 to advance to the semi-finals of the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia).

When asked if he was responsible for Cristiano new run of form, Sarri replied:

"I believe that the compliments should be reserved for his (Cristiano’s) mother,

"He is in super form physically. In terms of explosiveness he is doing well, he takes great care of the details.

"It is difficult to improve on an individual level. We are talking about one of the greatest of all time and I would like to help him win a sixth Ballon d'Or.”

Ronaldo had picked up a Gonzalo Higuain cross barely 26 minutes, he sprinted into the penalty area and from an acute angle, he slotted home the first goal in the Allianz Stadium.

Rodrigo Bentancur added a second goal on 38th minute and captain/defender, Leonardo Bonucci, nodded home the third goal just before halftime, giving Juventus a comfortable 3-goal lead.

Roma youngster, Cengiz, pulled a goal back for Roma barely five minutes after the second half commenced. He lashed unto the ball from a distance and the ball came off the crossbar before bouncing into the net off the veteran goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon’s body.

Buffon later atoned for the error by denying Alessandro Florenzi and Aleksandar Kolorav who both had fantastic strikes. Juventus are now on course to claim their 14th Italian Cup (Coppa Italia) trophy.

The 34-year-old, who turns 35 on February 5th, has shown no signs of slowing down since the wake of a new year, scoring seven goals in four matches played in 2020. The goal in the Italian Cup meant Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in 15 different cup competitions in his career.
