On Wednesday, February 5, the much anticipated new jerseys for Nigeria's national football teams were unveiled by American sportswear manufacturer, Nike.
The new 2020 designs were launched at a ceremony held by the Nike forum in New York and had many celebrities in attendance.
Nike unveiled some of their newest creations for the Olympics along with football kits of the USA, Nigeria and South Korea.
But unsurprisingly, Nigeria’s kits are the ones getting massive online reviews, just as was the case in 2018 when the previous designs were unveiled ahead of the World Cup in Russia.
Speaking on the new designs Nike senior director, Global communications, Heidi Burgett, said:
“The home kit’s hand-drawn design fuses the traditional aesthetic of an agbada robe with modern football design.
"Away kit trim is inspired by Onanism. Broader collection of Super Eagles apparel includes a poncho, vest, dress, & more."
Following the unveiling of the wears, which the Super Eagles will begin to use in March when the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers restart, fans globally have been having their say.
