Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, has revealed that he could be sacked if his side loses their round of 16 tie against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

City, who sits second and are currently 22 points off Premier League rivals, Liverpool, will be storming the UEFA Champions League, with the hope of channelling all their resources to that campaign as the EPL seems futile.

Guardiola‘s men still have a chance to win the FA Cup and League Cup where they will be facing Aston Villa in the final. However, Guardiola still believes he could get a sack letter should Manchester City lose their Champions League tie against Real Madrid.

Guardiola, who spoke to ’Football Daily’ media, was asked if he would remain in the job regardless of Man City’s UCL exploits, he replied.

“UEFA Champions League is played by the best all over the world, That’s why it is so difficult to win it. And in 100 and more seasons of history for Manchester City, it was 100 seasons of failure but that is not true,

”People say ”you are good” or ”you are not good”, I accept it whichever, I want to win the Champions League, I dream and will enjoy the games against Real Madrid, to see what I can do.

“And this process, the two weeks before, will be the happiest moments of my profession, to imagine what we can do to beat them.

“If we don’t beat them, then the chairman will come, or the sporting director, and say ‘It’s not good enough, we want the Champions League, I’m going to sack you’.

“Then ‘OK, thank you, it was a pleasure.’”
