Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, skipped training with his Italian club, Juventus, on Tuesday, to dash to the Madeira home of his mother, who is suffering from stroke.
“All we can say is that hes mot at training for personal reasons,” Juventus told AFP, without giving further details.
According to reports, the 65-year old mother of 4 was said to have suffered a stroke and had been receiving treatment at the Dr Nelio Mendonca Hospital on the island of Madeira.
The publication further revealed that Ronaldo’s mother had already undergone a procedure to remove a blood clot from an artery. She is now expected to go through the same process that could be described as ‘mechanical thrombectomy’.
However, the 65-year-old is now reportedly conscious and in a stable condition in a Funchal hospital.
