Odion Ighalo continued his incredible start to life at Manchester United with a sensational performance in their Europa League clash against LASK.

The Nigerian forward scored one and assisted another as the Red Devils ran riot against their hosts in the last 16 of the competition.

Ighalo opened the scoring for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men two minutes before the half-hour mark with a sumptuous solo effort on the 18-yard line.

The 30-year-old had received a delightful flicked ball from fellow January signing, Bruno Fernandes, which he controlled with his right, then he juggled the ball with his left and right before hammering a fierce left-footed strike into the top corner. This strike proved to be the difference between both sides in the opening 45 minutes.

United should have been more than a goal up at the half time but Juan Mata fluffed his line earlier on while Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire had chances from Bruno Fernandes' set pieces.

In the second half, however, the Red Devils turned on the style to win the first leg of the tie convincingly.

Odion Ighalo who netted the first goal, turned provider for the second when he found Daniel James during a swift counter-attacking move and the Welshman cut inside his marker before burying a low shot into the goalkeeper's right-hand post.

Juan Mata made it 3-0 with a well-taken finish off a Fred through ball before substitutes, Mason Greenwood and Andreas Pereira, sealed the win with two late strikes.

It was a comfortable European night for the 2016/2017 Europa League winners who would now switch focus to their weekend Premier League game against Jose Mourinho's depleted Tottenham side.
